“The creation of this Special Reserve is a yearlong collaboration between the Cider Maker and the Orchardists. The orchardists at Apple Lane Orchard on Deman Island, nurtured and then selected the very best certified organic heritage cider apples from the orchard

The Cider Maker crafted this small batch using a slow cold fermentation to retain the flavours and fragrances of the apples and then aged it on the lees for a year.”

  • Would I recommend this to cider aficionados: yes

Visual: Pours pale light apple juice yellow with no head, tight clusters of steady streams.

Nose: acidic tangy apple cider, medium woody with a bit of funk. (lvl-7)-pungency

Attack: heftier density, apple brightness

Mid-palate: big tangy, bright acidity, apple wine alcoholic, crisp-tart, (lvl-6-sweetness), woody red apple

Finish: woodiness/sea urchin exhale, green apple tart, sticky gums

Summary: Big body, big alcohol, big woody apple wine flavour. Lots of tang and structure keeps this one interesting from start to finish.
