Raven’s Moon Apple Cider – Blue Moon Winery & Cider Worx, 8.5% ABV, 500ml., (Courtenay, BC, Canada)
on the back label:
“The night air brings a fresh, rich scent as the raven settles on a branch heavy with apples. Beneath the moon an apple thuds as it hits the ground. The Raven swoops down on black wings, tonight he feasts.
Artisan apple cider handcrafted from a blend of BC heritage apples. Diverse in flavours and complex characteristics, Raven’s Moon is the perfect cider for any occasion, infused with the talents of George and Marla of Blue Moon Farm and Winery, this cider is inspired by their love of tradition, innovation, and the flavours of BC fruit.
What’s in the Worx you ask? Using only the juice from freshly pressed apples, not from concentrate. No water or artificial flavours added.”

Visual: Pours clear straw yellow with no head, no top retention, steady streams.
Nose: acidic apple juice, light tangy. (lvl-3)-pungency
Attack: dense apple sugars, light crisp
Mid-palate: sticky (lvl-5-sweetness), medium tart, sour-tangy bold apple wine acidity, red apple juice, background fizzy, hints of pear
Finish: more tartness, lingering acidity, fruity apple exhale
Summary: Decent medium body, acidic backbone, and light fizzy texture all make this a drinkable brew; goes better with a meal. There’s nothing particularly outstanding or noteworthy though.
