The Craft BeerAdvent Calendar 2014 Day #18
- My Rating: [C+], I gave it a (3.2 of 5) on Ratebeer.com
Jeune Gueule Weïti – Brasserie Guyanaise, 5.0% ABV – 330ml., (Matoury, French Guiana)
- Style: Witbier
- Taste: Bubbly sour orange sweet wheat malt mild roughness
- Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
- Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: no
Visual: Pours cloudy orange with lots of suspended sediment, a HUGE massive lasting foamy head, torrents of fast streams everywhere – visually impeccable.
Nose: lemon-orange citrus, mild barnyard funk sourness (lvl-7)-pungency
Attack: fizzy-crisp, bubbly-fullness
Mid-palate: (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) sweet barley malt, orange citrus overtones, tangy wheat malt
Finish: burpy, ginger dryness, wheat malt palate roughness.
Summary: Beautifully visually, good bubbly texture for easy-drinking, decent flavour but not a whole lot of carry at the finish.
