Phillips Snowcase 2015 Calendar Day #14
- My Rating: [C+], I gave it a (3.0 of 5) on Ratebeer.com
Phillips Wit Beer – Phillips Brewing, 5.0% ABV – 341ml., (Victoria, BC, Canada)
on the front-right label:
“Orange peel & coriander infuse this refreshing wit beer. This label was designed by artist Chris Dobell whose talent has brought life to our brewery signage for years. It’s a beer that inspires art, that inspires the art of brewing beer.”
- Style: Witbier
- Taste: Thicker alcoholic sweet caramel roasted barley malt
- Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
- Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: solid, but not noteworthy.
Visual: Pours translucent orange-yellow without much head, ringed retention, lots of steady streams, leftover sediment at the bottom of the bottle.
Nose: orange oils, banana wheat malt, apricot, alcohol. (lvl-7)-pungency
Attack: crisp-micro fizzy
Mid-palate: (lvl-2)-sweetness, (MAIN) orange peel, apricot, banana wheat malt
Finish: light pukey, light sour-zingy, coriander dryness, tangerine exhale, dry wheat malt palate-rough finish.
Summary: Decent fruity fizzy entry and mids, but I didn’t particularly enjoy the dry, rough finish.
