Phillips Snowcase 2015 Calendar Day #5
- My Rating: [C], I gave it a (2.7 of 5) on Ratebeer.com
One & Only Saison – Phillips Brewing, 6.8% ABV – 341ml., (Victoria, BC, Canada)
on the front-right label:
“Saisons were brewed for farmhands to reward their hard work. This label was designed by artist Stu Dobell, whose hard work brings life to many of our projects. It’s beer that inspires art, that inspires the art of brewing beer.”
- Style: Saison
- Taste: Dull almost salty plasticky banana wheat malt
- Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
- Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: no
Visual: Pours clear light golden yellow-orange with barely any head, super thin ringed retention, only a few steady singular streams.
Nose: mellow pineapple wheat malt, soapy. (lvl-4)-pungency
Attack: crisp, light fizzy CO2
Mid-palate: almost salty, (MAIN) apple juice, plasticky, pineapple/banana, coriander, wheat malt
Finish: sweet wheat malt finish.
Summary: Flavour and texture are dull and not engaging; It has a very underwhelming and apathetic effect on the palate. Just average compared to the Central City Brett Saison I had yesterday.
