Slipstream Ale – Phillips Brewing, 5.0% ABV – 341ml., (Victoria, BC, Canada)

  • Style: Cream Ale
  • Taste: Malty toasted barley cola premature flavour finish
  • Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
  • Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: no again

(April 2015 tasting): Visual: Pours beer bottle brown, almost no head, barely any retention, many fast steady streams. Nose: brown sugar caramel malts, a some biscuit/cookie as well. (lvl-5)-pungency. Attack: crisp malty bite. Mid-palate: partially thin-flat mouthfeel, (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) brown sugar, caramel malts, light cola. Finish: light burpy, light-sweet malty super subtle bitter dry hopped finish. Summary: Quite boring actually. Just a malty beer lacking any special characteristics.
