Central City/Parallel 49 2015 Craft Crossing Calendar Day #4
- My Rating: [B-]
The Dominator Dominic’s Brett Saison – Central City Brewing, 6.5% ABV – 330ml., (Surrey, BC, Canada)
on the front-left label:
“Don’t let the Dominator escape! In honour of the now alumni brewer Dominic Giraldes, this brett saison is complex, with a touch of a sour note. The beer pays homage to the farmhouse ale beer style, with our own touch of west coast.”
- Style: Saison
- Taste: Citrusy sweet banana lemony wheat malt almost salty
- Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
- Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: decent, wouldn’t seek it out
Visual: Pours translucent pale orange without any sizable head, thin half layer of micro retention, lots of steady large CO2 streams.
Nose: orange citrus, banana wheat malt, traces of funk. (lvl-4)-pungency
Attack: crisp-fizzy-tingly, incoming citrus sweet
Mid-palate: (lvl-5)-sweetness, (MAIN) light pukey, sweet banana wheat malt, lemon -> tangy, almost salty
Finish: lingering sweet malt, light palate roughness.
Summary: Overall a very drinkable saison with enjoyable citrus and wheat elements. Good texture and tanginess as well.
