Central City/Parallel 49 2014 Calendar Day #2
- My Rating: [C+], I gave it a (3 of 5) on Ratebeer.com
Red Racer Pilsner – Central City Brewing, 9.0% ABV – 341ml., (Surrey, BC, Canada)
on the back label:
“Red Racer Pilsner is brewed in the classic Bavarian tradition, using only the finest two-row barley, and hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. This light and golden Pilsner has a distinct hop aroma and flavour, with a dry, crisp finish.”
- Style: Pilsener
- Taste: Very crisp light barley malt bready grassy ninja hops
- Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
- Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: no WOW factor
Visual: Pours frosty golden yellow-amber with a dissipating small head, a thin layer of micro retention, many slowish steady streams.
Nose: straw, grassy, yeast, very light malt. (lvl-2)-pungency
Attack: super crisp, incoming subdued hops
Mid-palate: (lvl-4)-sweetness mixed with medium bitter hops, (MAIN) light barley malts, grainy bread, grassy-hay, yeast
Finish: ninja (under-the-radar) lingering soft hopped liquid malt finish.
Summary: Good, clean, simple flavours. I would enjoy this for its texture and simplicity, not for intense depth nor aroma.
