  • My Rating: A-

La Rulles La Grande 10 (Millesieme 2012) – Brasserie Artisanale de Rulles, 10% ABV – 75cl., (Rulles, Belgium)

  • Style: Belgian Strong Ale
  • Taste: Honeyed-malt chamomile-lemon beer
  • Where I got it : Sherbrooke
  • How much: $12 (after 10% off) – 75cl., June 2012
  • Do I love this enough to drink it again: yes
  • Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: yes

Visual: Pours almost clear golden marmalade orange with a sizable foamy head, good retention, sticky lacing, several moderate speed streams.

Nose: chamomile honeyed malts, with a bit of lemon; bright, sweet, and aromatic. (9/10-pungency)

Attack: foamy-creamy, sweet honey

Mid-palate: (8/10)-honeyed sweetness, (MAIN) honey, chamomile (floral/tea), citrus malts, lemon

Finish: malty exhale, light-med subtle soft hoppy bitterness, malty-sweet finish.

Summary: This is beer is super crisp and smooth straight out of the fridge and into a chilled glass at sub 10°C, and noticeably heavier/sweeter as it warms. A balanced and competent brew.
