“Malts: Pilsner & pale malt Hops: Warrior and Amarillo (Yakima Valley, Washington State USA), Cascade Yeast: Top fermenting yeast from Orval Trappiste Brewery Very fresh and hoppy in the nose and on the palate – ideal “complex” summer refresher with an amazing array of fruity-citrusy notes IBU 35″

  • Style: Belgian Ale
  • Taste Profile: whipped cream smoothness -> orange bitter hops/sweet orange/grapefruit -> burpy/grapefruity hopped bitter finish.
  • Where I got it : Firefly
  • How much: $9 (after 10% off), September 2012
  • Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
  • Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: yes

Visual: heavy quality glass green bottle. Pours translucent sunburst orange with an awesome large ultra-foamy head, super long foamy retention, lots of champagne-like bubbly activity.

Nose: not much there on the nose when chilled, hints of floral hopped malts after 15 mins. (4/10 aromatic strength)

Attack: super whipped-cream silky mouthfeel, crispness

Mid-palate: (MAIN) orange hoppy bitterness, sweet(6/10) orange-apricot (HINT) yellow grapefruit

Finish: burpy, grapefruit hopped sour-bitter finish

Summary: This one is all about bitter hoppy citrus creamy smoothness. Executed to highest standards and extremely drinkable, though could use more complexity.
