Nasty Habit IPA – Mt. Begbie Brewing (Revelstoke, Canada)

  • My Rating: C

Nasty Habit IPA – Mt. Begbie Brewing, 6.0% ABV – 650ml, (Revelstoke, BC, Canada)

  • Style: India Pale Ale
  • Taste Profile: med sweet creamy -> very sharp dry bitter hops/grapefruit/orange peel -> lingering bitter hoppy finish.
  • Where I got it : BC Liquor Stores
  • How much: $5, April 2013
  • Do I love this enough to drink it again: no
  • Would I recommend this to beer aficionados: not really

Tasting notes: pours a nice clear copper orange with a small head and thin retention, almost no activity. Strong citrus malts and sour hops on the nose.

Attack: 5/10-sweetness, light creamy

Mid-palate: very sharp bitter, dryness, bitter hops, orange peel, grapefruit with pith

Finish: lingering hoppy bitter, mild gasoline, not the cleanest finish.

Quite sharp bitter grapefruity hops on this one. Not the most gentle of IPAs, beware.
